SACRAMENTO, CA. The garden juxtaposes lush plantings of vivax bamboo underplanted with foam flower, alum root and spiderwort with a more xeric, California style landscape.

Ties to various cultures - mosaic, a red moon gate, Moroccan lanterns, a modern sculpture - symbolize the impact its diverse population made on the state's culture.

We have been using the dining table to get together with the show's other designers and friends to share a snack and relax during the show.

The bamboo, a running type with beautiful green or yellow striped canes, was provided by Instant Jungle, who also provided the pindo palms. The remainder of the plants were provided by Sierra View Nursery. Salt and pepper gravel, bark and bluestone pavers came from Mid-Valley Rock and Roundtree Rock. Fireclay provided the tile used in the mosaic table. The Maroccan lanterns were loaned to us by a client, and the sculpture came from the Haag Gallery in Sacramento.
